Director – Business Development, Hargrove Engineers and Constructors
Andrew Knapp, P.E. is currently a Director of Business Development at Hargrove Engineers & Constructors supporting their 19 offices remotely from the greater Chicago area.

He is an experienced mechanical engineer and project manager with more than 30 years of experience in bulk material handling, project management, and engineering support across various industries.

As Director of Business Development, Andrew provides leadership, business development support, and project management, working to enhance the team's capabilities to deliver comprehensive project solutions to their customers.

Previously, Andrew was a Senior Program Manager at APTIM in The Woodlands, TX where he developed business in the agricultural sector, focusing on grain handling and terminal support. He managed all technical aspects of assigned projects, including a new ship loading facility at an export grain terminal, which featured state-of-the-art conveyors and loaders designed to reduce dust emissions. Many of these projects included the growing field of discrete elemental modeling (DEM) of bulk material flowing through equipment and transfers.

Additional former professional roles include his service as project manager and engineer at Kinder Morgan in Columbus, OH, project management and engineering support at Martin Engineering in Neponset, IL, and engineering manager at Screw Convey Corporation in Hammond, IL.

Andrew has been heavily involved in conveying equipment and structures and he played a crucial role in securing a significant project in northwest Canada,
leveraging fast-track design and advanced fabrication technologies to achieve exceptional profit margins.

Throughout his career, Andrew has successfully led complex projects, developed innovative engineering solutions, and driven business development efforts across a variety of sectors. Aside from mastering projects, guiding his team on bulk material handling, and bringing in new business, Andrew enjoys working on his collection of 1980s cars that he and his sons have acquired.

Andrew is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a MS in Organizational Management, a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BS in Psychology, and a graduate of Franklin University with an AS in Mechanical Engineering.
